GORM & Banner Projects

Just a quick update of my weekend.

What's GORM?
GORM is a Shelving Product by IKEA.
Here's Before and after photos

Gorm shelves were originally designed for tools storage, but I've used it for my clothes. I kinda like the retro, simple, and raw look. The woods are all unprocessed. Cool eh??

Banner Project

This is the old one

This is the new one

No more scary and dark banner.

Good change?

Update: I don't understand why the picture appear stretched and over the box. Busy!! fix them in the future.

Upadate 1: I think i've fix the stretched picture, but think the border still a bit crooked. Fix it next time. oh yeah move the text a little too

LG U990 LG Viewty

I’ve got a new phone!!
I have been thinking of buying a new phone for quite some time now.
And I have finally got it!
It’s an LG U990 or LG Viewty Phone.
It’s a touch screen 5 mega pixels camera phone.
Before this phone came out, I was thinking of getting the Sony Ericsson W910i, but decided not to, as the phone’s 2mp was a letdown.

I love pop up picture. These are everything in the box.

I just love it how everything fits inside the box. Here's the front and back view of the phone.

Review Comments:

1. The phone is about the same size as my old nokia 6280

2. I like black and i like the metal casing of the phone

3. The touch screen is something new to me, it does take time to get used to it. The phone allows you to choose from a vibration or a sound feedback. I do admit these feedbacks does help a lot in the adoption of using the touch screen. After some time of practicing (a day) I kinda mastered the skill of touch screen.

4. I find this phone and the LG shine difficult to use under the sun. It is pretty much impossible to see the screen under the sun. It transformed into a mirror type screen once there's direct sunlight. It works perfectly well under the shade

5. I do find the phone a bit hard to hold while using, it just doesn't have a good grip on the phone.

6. In terms of phone's function, this phone doesn't have as much functions as most nokia's phones. That's why it does bring LG some bad reputation of LG is not user friendly.

7. This phone has the most powerful camera capability compared to any other current camera phone on the market. With ISO100-800, Image Stabilizer, Bright flash and 5MP lens, it makes it more like a camera than a phone. Oh yeah. Not forgetting the 120Frame persecond filiming, enable user to record high speed action and view it in slow mode.

8. It is funny how the phone has such strong camera capability but, they didn't allow some sort of cover to protect the lens.

9. It is impossible to keep the front screen clear at all time. It will be smeared with finger prints all over after just a single use.

I have watched it 5 times and I laughed every single time.
The background music is pretty catchy too
Maybe I lead an extremely boring life.

You've gotta watch the whole falling journey

Lunch @ Sushi Train

Let me start off by singing
WONG YI FEI's Famous Song
"1 million dollars"
"na si wa wu jit pak ban" - if I have 1 million dollars
"jit pun jiak sushi"- eat sushi in japan

Just like wat CK wrote
We don't have to go to JAPAN for sushi!!

Anyway, couple of my friends and I went to SUSHI TRAIN for sushi the other day. These were the food we had. Enjoy!

Oh! Sorry about the lame transalation, I couldn't bother to remember all the sushi's name. e.g unagi, utagi, watever gi, watever ton..etc

- Crunchy fish fillet topped with crunchy rice puff-
(some puffs fell into the sauce)

-Squid Ball- this is good!

- Crabstick Roll -

-Eel Rice Roll-

-Salmon Rice Roll-

-Mayo Corn sushi-

-Calamari coated with cavier sushi-
(some sort of sea weed were hanging there)

-Smoked Salmon Roll-

-Fresh Sliced Salmon-

-Deep Fried Chicken Fillet Pieces-

-Miso Soup-

-Smoked Scallop Roll-
-Shark Fin Roll-

Pricing - $A2.50 - $A7.50, depending on the colour of the plate

1. Raw Food - not my type of food
2. Not really a big fan of sushi
3. Overall it's alright! Quite authentic too, chefs working there are all japanese.
4. Love the waitress though!

Election Day

24th November 2007 was our Australian election day. It is a law/requirement for all Australian to vote, or else $50 dollar fine will be implied to those who didn’t vote. I guess the fine was there to urge Australian to be responsible to choose who their leader be for the next 4 years. I mean look at the state, when there’s no law on voting, they get Bush (opps).

Anyway, I got my sources (*wink wink) that my name was recorded into the data base this year. So, for me not get the 50 dollar fine, I have to vote this year. To be honest with you, I am really not into politics, and I couldn't’t care less about voting. I dragged my self on a Saturday morning, bought a cup of coffee and went to vote.

Upon arrival to the voting venue, posters were everywhere to promote their campaign.
Flyers were handed out to further promote particular parties

People were "busy" votingEven Batman came to vote too

Here's my voting poll. Thank goodness for the coffee!

Result came in the following night.
This my friend, is our New Prime Minister of Australia,
Kevin Rudd

This is our ex-PM,
John Howard

Voting to avoid getting $50 dollars fine - TICKED OFF!!!!

This voting "guide" was forwarded to me before the election day, so might as well post it here.
